New Developement

Just before halloween oct.28 i got a call from cassie who is one of the main characters in the film.She was talking about it with a couple people and some one was interested in what she had to say a fellow zombie lover christopher Macquarrie she gave me his card with contact information including email so i send him a message.He had cameras and editing equipment and had done some work himself (BigMAn Productions).He responded and was more that happy to share any information.So i will call him in the next day or so here and find out if he rents out his equipment hom much.Or at the very least where he got it and how much maybe some tips on cheap effects.Still moving forward.

Script Re-write(New character)

Well witht his new location alot more things are coming to mind .another person in the mix i think more to do with the house itself.Before i was just going to do a bit of location shots and do the rest in town in garages wherever i could.but now with this new location so close i could spend more time there and it screamed to be used.So when i first attempted this venture i was at erie wares house and met Shane Mould aka Steve Moss.He had done some wokr with a buddy of his and also had a love of horror especially zombie genre as did i.he said he would be my bruce campbell if i needed him.well as luck would have it ernie was getting married and shane ended up sitting beside me at the wedding.we talked and i got his number he was trying to get some writing off the ground so again we had common ground.About a week or 2 later i called him and invited him over to see if he would be intereseted still.He was ,and now is on board hell stgar in the film and well co write the next wre-write of the script.Things are rolling this is great i might not have done much in the last almost 2 years now.but hinigs are still happening and moving forward.

Location

Well its been a long time since i have posted on here.havent had anything to put up though.time off of the drills and trying to put that time to use.So i thought i would go location hunting,the location i wanted is up tranquille creek area but up towards seven lakes.Havent been up there in 5 years but was determined to find it.IN the meantime i had heard rumors of some sort of abondonded settlement that was up pinitan-pritchard road so me and matt ramage decided to take our cameras and head up there in search of some sweet pics and maybe another location possability.this was oct.15.We never found any such thing when we went up we were coming down into pritchard above the trailer park side just at the tree line.thought wed drive down a bit see the area and then turn around.well on our way down off to the left was the perfect place.there was an old farm house and sheds just off to the left of it.Couldnt beleive my luck we got out and walked up taking pictures as we went.Matt wouldnt go 10 feet from it.I went right up to it but only peeked my head in and took a few pics inside.This was perfect and only 25 minutes from my house.The enxt day i searched for information ,who owned it ,how long has it been there?First place i phoned was the the town of chase administration, they didnt have a clue and said it was part of the TNRD anyway.So back to the phonebook again and the land titles department,another dead end they couldnt tell me anything without detailed information about it.at the minimum i need the fire number and there wasnt tanything on the property close to a number.So thge next5 day o0ct.17 now i decided just to go up and hassle the neighbors for information.when i got up there just below the property was a house so i decided to ask them first.It was there property ed hasslebrook and his wife he wasnt there at the time so i talked ot his wife explained that i wanted to make a short film and she said she didnt have a problem with it ,i just had to talk to her husband to make sure it was all good.I thanked her and left.the next day oct.18 i called back and confimed with her husband he said it wouldnt be a problem as well .I still want to go back up and talk to them once more to explain exactly what iwas going to be doing making a horror movie just to make sure everything is clear.This was the house he had grown up in and dont want to do anything to disrespect him in any way they are helping me out greatly by doing this wether they know it or not.Noe the less im fricking stoked i have a location thats creepy as shit and is perfect it was made for this.

Vernon Meeting

Well i did get some time off of work and was able to make it to vernon to meet with matt brown.Hes not a part of beacon he has his own studio that is being built right now.He seemed genuine about his intrest in the script and wanting to help me.Thinks i should do a couple rewrite and explore the butcher character more.Stay away from the zombie element,at first i really didnt want to but now that ive haad a couple days to play around with the character ive had some good ideas.He wanted also to make it 20 min.I want to start shooting in july and hes willing to help at every step. of the way.I cant believe how well things are going.If i wasnt pumped before i sure as hell am now.

Cerfuzzled

not to sure whats going on here ive made 2 posts since this August one and both have dissapeared.SO heresa to sum up.I eventually sent my script to matt in vernon.He got it rerad it and said it was good stuff.Cool.At least it dosnt suck but hes going to look at it and send it back covered in red.Cause of course ive never written one before so...theres going to be a bit o fixen.But also he wants to meet and sit down with the script and go over it with me.Also to come to the studio and meet the rest of everyone else that works there.I cant beleive i got invited,its going to be pretty cool.I wont have anytime soon to go but when i get another beak from work im going to go.In the meantime im going to start work on another script to take with me when i go.but well see like i said i dont have much time.

money

the one thing that i do need badly is money .so i found a new job and as you can tell its taking up alot of my time since i havent posted here since july.I am diamond drilling and hopefully save up enought to start filming by the summer.next summer that is.This winter i will use some of the money to further my education in sfx.heres hoping.

SCript and edjumacation

Well i have finished the script a whole wopping 9 min.actually 2 drafts one on papaer and trhe other was learning movie magic screenwriter 2000,that was a gong show.never even seen a real script begore,never cared enought o want to loved the movies who needs to see a script.Well found examplres and wingeed it,sent a copy to ross to see if he could edit it for me and get his opinion and sent a copy to matt in vernon.Myabe he could run it by one of his guys there and see what they think.There were a couple things in the program not sure where to put them or what kind of information is needed and not.I think its time to start downloading some and printing them out to see what they look like.but not the crap there pumping out to day,some thing old woth story to it not just big explosions and flash.
On the special effects front i havent heard back from raechel griffin or kristine bebeck yet ah well so be it.i did contact fleshand fantasy again to see what they offered for the worshops for beginers.ryan nicholson is there teacher hes not doing courses for the summer so he might be interested in doing private lessons.which would be killer but a 5 day course is $2000.which is understandable his time is not cheap and also the materials to learn with are expensive.I ve been browsing the suppliers and some of this stuff is crazy expensive.a day course would be around 500 bucks.hes got my email adress and will be contacting mer soon,i think this will be the best venue for the cash rioght now.If i secure the cameras it dosnt really matter what im shooting if i cant pull it off.when he contacs me im going to let him know all the things i need for the film.see how long it would be to teach me the basics and go from there.i could also just get the materials and say screw it and learn for myself.But then there not cheap i could blow the 400 i have on them and in the end have a mess and leqared nothing.Either way very expensive.I knew it would be getting into this when i was thinking of doing a full movie.But even now with just 10 min. iu think i can pull it off with like 2000.i dont know where im going to get that kind of cash,or if itll be enough im going to get a budget form that matt sent me and fill it out and see what happens when i do i thik ill post it on here.I will probaly post the script on here,..Maybe.

Money

rebate chuqes are in and i have about 400 bucks.So now im still waiting to hear back from racheal griffin.if that dosnt work im finding out how much the cameras are going to be from matt.Ill be emailing him a copy of the script today.Oh yes i finished it and printed out a copy.mialed it to myself and everything.Its only 9 pages long in the end.So barley a 10 min prject.I have sent a copy to my personel editor ROSCO and hes reading it as im writing this.Hopefully hell get back to me soon with some red marker all over it.In the email i send matt im going to ask him if he can show it to his scripot writer there and get some feedback from him as well.Also matt worked on "fido" so i should also see if he knows anyone that worked on it that might be able to give me some info on special effects.pertaining to zombies and such that is.but if the cameras are crazy expensive maybe ill order a couplke hundred bucks worth of stuff from Holly north in vancouver.Or one of them at least with movie quality stuff to use and learn with.got to keep this thing goig.

State fo Skitz

Well as of july 1 skitz will be moving to calgary and i will be solo.ufortunate turn of events but will not deter at all everythjing is ahead as planned
